Meet the Designer Maile Alicia
I’m a costume designer and enjoy creating for presentations and the stage. I find it irresistible to create that extra “something” that just makes the design sparkle and come together! I have been sewing and creating since I was ten years old. I produce custom creations, starting with a sketch of the idea and continuing through the finished product. I design custom gowns, wedding dresses and accessories to go with that special gown.
I’m a re-enactor for Renaissance Fairs and Dickens productions. I graduated from the University of Nevada - Reno. While in college I was active in the drama and choral departments. I spent a semester studying at the University of Brighton at Falmer (and touring England!).
I enjoy and have taught a wide variety of different crafts from beading, to sewing, bobbin lace, tatting, spinning, and needle works. Beading is a particular passion and I have done a fabulous formal beaded evening gown – my very special favorite design and creation!
When I am not involved in creating, I raise and train puppies for children with disabilities. I teach hands on science for children preschool through 6th grade. I am a certified scuba diver and am currently diving for the National Geographic certification. I love to travel with my family and I enjoy just being lazy in the sun!
